Undergraduate Internships

If you are a Communication major, we want to assist you in finding opportunities to gain real work experience and/or have the opportunity to work in a classroom setting assisting a faculty member. The Department of Communication's Undergraduate Internship Program currently offers both teaching and career internship opportunities. The communication career internship program helps students find internships and earn academic credit for their internship experience. Internships are a great way to gain real-world experience, explore career paths, add skills to your resume, build your professional network, and apply your communication major to the workplace.

The undergraduate teaching internship allows students to assist instructors in a variety of communication courses while earning academic credit. The program introduces students to the art of teaching, and is especially useful for those interested in graduate school or careers in education.

Our undergraduate research program pairs students with graduate student mentors based on their research interests. The program provides students with hands-on research experience and helps them develop a better understanding of the discipline. Students can obtain course credit for participating in the mentoring program.
