The Speakers Workshop at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign supports our diverse university community with resources to develop effective communication competencies. It is a low-stakes environment that values peer-to-peer interaction, critical thinking, audience awareness, and transferability of knowledge to other situations and contexts in a process of lifelong learning.
The Speakers Workshop is led by a faculty director and several graduate students from the Department of Communication, and is additionally staffed by undergraduate students from a variety of majors. It is a campus-wide resource that provides individual consultations with speakers from any major or discipline, as well as workshops and unique programming for classes and other campus groups.
