Dr. Jones Barbour teaches courses on communication and leadership and public memory and leadership.  She is an award-winning teacher. Dr. Jones Barbour was the 2019 recipient of the University of Texas at Austin, Moody College of Communication Teaching Excellence Award and in 2020 she was honored with the Cale McDowell Award from the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Texas at Austin for innovation in undergraduate education.
