Convocation
Spring Convocation 2026
The ceremony recognizes August '25, December '25, May '26, and August '26 communication graduates. It will include hooding candidates for the Ph.D. degree and calling all participating graduates to the platform in recognition of their academic achievement. Photographs will be taken of candidates as they receive their diploma covers and cross the stage. The ceremony lasts for approximately 90 minutes and will be livestreamed for those who cannot attend in person.

Day of the Ceremony

Graduates should arrive dressed in regalia at least 45 minutes prior to the start of the event. There is no rehearsal, so please arrive promptly to check in. Marshals will direct you to your place in line.

Ceremony livestream

The convocation ceremony will be livestreamed for those who cannot attend in person. The livestream will begin shortly before the ceremony starts.

Ceremony registration

Students must register in order to participate in the ceremony and receive guest tickets. Tickets are required for all guests and can be picked up in the CMN Advising Office (3051 Lincoln Hall) in the first week of May. Registration will close on Sunday, April 12. Click here to register.

Academic regalia

A cap and gown are required to participate in the Communication Convocation. Herff Jones provides rentals for all graduates.

Special accommodations should reserved in advance, as they are the only way your entire party can be seated together in accessible seating areas.

Extra tickets

Each participating student can receive up to 6 guest tickets. For those who may need extra, additional tickets may be requested (but are not guaranteed). The request form will open on Monday, April 6, and close on April 26.
