In order to provide internship opportunities to students, you will need to develop internship assignments that are related to the students' academic training and interest. These assignments should provide a translation of the knowledge that students gain in the classroom into a work environment.

Your business can offer substantive work experiences that support students' academic and career goals by:

  • Creating challenging and realistic tasks a student can accomplish during the time frame,
  • Working with the University of Illinois Communication faculty to identify appropriate learning objectives, and
  • Providing a performance evaluation for the student at the end of the internship assignment.

If you would like to start an internship program in your organization or partner with us to provide additional internships, we can help. Please feel free to contact us at comm-internships@illinois.edu or call us at 217-333-4383.
