Melinda Sevilla is an MA student in the Department of Communication, where she studies Mediated Communication and Technology. She received a BA in Communication Studies and Spanish from the University of San Diego. During her undergraduate career, she spent an academic year studying and conducting research in the Global Communication department at Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid, Spain. Her areas of interest include digital media, media effects, message design, new technology environments, and race/ethnicity.
In the past, Melinda has worked as an Assistant Course Director and peer leader for Communication 101 (Public Speaking). She has consistently received recognition from her students for "outstanding teaching effectiveness" (CITL).
